Insect Definer is a content app for the ipad, which allows for digital text reading, and a transformation from the printed content, to digital media. The app will allow exploring and experiencing the world of insects in a new interactive way. The core of the app lies in its search abilities, which use new search values, that the printed book cannot provide. Through this new way of exploring, along with departing from the existing catalog conventions, offers new intersections and contexts to become revealed among the varied insects.
In today's world, when magazines, books, and even the morning papers change their configuration to digitally interactive, the new goal is to do it in the best and most natural way. One of the main objectives in the project was to appeal to a wide range of people, who have no prior knowledge of the subject matter. Because of the easy search interface and friendly usability, people are able to explore this magical world. It was also a big challenge to find the right balance for the application, and maintain the value for professionals.
