Print Design Multipage: Finalist
Sung-Ho Bae
Keimyung University

Nine inverse proportion problems we have

Profile
Sung-Ho studied visual communication design at Keimyung University’s College of Media Art in South Korea. He has been studying at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe, Germany, as an exchange student since October 2006. He has exhibited in Korea, in Japan, and in Germany. He strives to achieve effective communication with his visual stories. His designs all convey a message to the viewer.

Communication objective
My hope in this work is to focus our attention on social problems. This selection from nine posters illustrates problems of social concern that we all understand. I used ironic expressions to arouse stronger reactions in the viewer. So, each poster’s message can be seen from contrasting perspectives, like our own lives. I used a visual identity that suggests the yellow-black barrier tape seen at crime sites under investigation to express the seriousness of the problem. I tried to create a humorous, witty, and cynical atmosphere.

Tools used
I shot and scanned basic images myself. Every image was then edited in Adobe® Photoshop® CS2. I used Adobe Illustrator® CS2 for layout and typography.
