How to apply for a non-immigrant visa to enter the U.S.

Profile
Christian finished a fine arts degree as a decorative painter in 2001. Then he enrolled at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Zurich in the Visual Communication department. He has had internships in Guangzhou (China) and Chicago. Christian has also attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago as an exchange student. After graduation he plans to work either in San Francisco or in Tokyo in hopes of experiencing new cultures far from home. He is strongly interested in editorial and information design.

Communication objective
While applying for a visa to enter the U.S., I realized that there is no tool to explain the different kinds of existing visas and how the whole application process works. In the U.S. embassy (in Bern, Switzerland) I found a confusing labyrinth with all brochures and bulletins spread on the wall. I put all the information together and started to create two posters. The first one represents the six existing visas in terms of time and expense for every single aspect and for the whole process. The other one shows a clear structure (with examples) of how to proceed.

Tools used
Beside the pictures on the second poster, which I edited with Adobe® Photoshop®, I worked 100% with Adobe Illustrator® CS2. I use Adobe Acrobat® to create a PDF version.
