Communication objective
The idea of the project is to provide a broad analysis of the use of the typeface rotis (by German designer Otl Aicher). The book starts with a general introduction that shows how typography influences our lives. The next section analyzes the typeface itself, showing its frequency of use in a collection of advertisements. The last part includes the results of our online survey about the typeface and an extract of a discussion between designers about the quality of the typeface. To celebrate the typeface’s 18th birthday in 2006, we asked famous international designers to create greeting cards, which we include as a gimmick in the book.
