In March of 2010, Daniel Galiard began studying at the University Stuttgart, called Hochschule der Medien, Audiovisual Media. Galiard specialized in virtual effects, during the making of the short film, Fortune Faded. During Galiard's study of visual effects, he worked as a student for BOSCH. At BOSCH, Galiard produced two movies, and made a photo album of the employees and BOSCH products. Galiard has also worked at EMENES, animating with After Effects, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro. Galiard is currently working for Festo, as a 3D animator, VFX supervisor, graphic artist and cutter.
Fortune Faded describes a journey, through suspended moments. The journey illustrates a story of a fateful concatenation, that ends in fire and ashes.
This was the first film project, by students of the Stuttgart Media University. The goal was to create an outstanding visual motion picture, combined with an intense emotional core. The team intended to tell a story in a unique way, not usually seen. The team was inspired by Adam Bergs' 'freeze technique', which became a perfect match for the twisted and fatalistic story.
